Saturday, May 5th
National Day of Action for Status for All

Celebrate Youth Week at this rally, march, and fair organized by No One Is Illegal. Meet YAN friends outside Christie station at 12:15-12:30. March begins from Christie Pitts Park and ends with a fair in Dufferin Grove Park.

Sunday May 6, 1-5pm
Youth Week Launch Party and Film Screening

Reception and Launch Party (1-2pm)
“Hear the Story”- a documentary made by a diverse group of Toronto youth struggling with poverty, racism, and violence in their communities. AND “Youth Force: Delivering a Message on HIV/AIDs”- a documentary from the perspective of youth participants at the 2006 International AIDS conference. Followed by a Q&A with filmmakers (2-3:30pm)
Screening of internationally-acclaimed Canadian film, “Khaled” about a 10 year-old Iranian-Canadian living in Toronto’s housing projects (3:30-5pm)

National Film Board Mediatheque: 150 John St. at Richmond (just south of MuchMusic). Wheelchair accessible.
Organized in partnership with Campaign 2000’s Youth Action Committee

Tuesday, May 8th, all day
The Countdown!

Toronto Inner City Teens on Circuit (TICTOC) offers inspiring workshops/speakers and entertainment to engage students from Oakwood Collegiate Institute. TICTOC is approaching old problems, in a new way. TICTOC identified issues affecting student at their school: systemic barriers, lack of communication, low self-esteem issues, lack of knowledge of resources and scholarships and will address these issues in a variety of ways at this whole day event! After the event, they intend that their model will be used at other schools across the TDSB.

Wednesday, May 9th, 5-8pm
Painting in the Park!

Find out more about how to get involved in the Beautiful City Billboard Fee Campaign. 5pm; 176 John St. suite 307. Join visual artists in a collective public art project. 6pm; Grange Park. Light snacks and paint supplies provided.

The YAMMIES!

Celebrate Youth Week at the YAMMIES– A Youth Film Showcase. Lakeshore Collegiate Institute. 350 Kipling Ave.
Organized by Youth Arts Movement and supported by Lakeshore Arts.

Saturday May 12, 6-9pm
This End Begins!

An Urban Youth Showcase with performers from across Toronto.
Featuring Street Dreama, Heavy Steve, OBU, L.Vision, Mami Uno, Cuesta, Meeca (as MC), and many more!
Food will be available free of charge.
